Medieval monasteries were at the centre of the brewing revolution in Scotland, creating rich and malty recipes for classic Scottish ales.
Belhaven Scottish Ale is brewed at Scotland’s oldest working brewery – near a monastery site dating back to 1150AD – and stays close to this tradition.
It is said that the true character that makes a Scottish ale shine is the malted barley and we use barley combined with the finest hops to create a deep copper coloured ale at 5.2%.
We are thrilled to announce that this delicious beer has been announced as the Gold Winner at the Monde Selection 2022 Awards & the bronze award at the World Beer Awards 2022!
