We’re still finalising our plans for the World Cup 2026, but it’s stacking up to be the biggest and best celebration we’ve ever seen at the Millcroft Rutherglen. Our Sky Sports and TNT Sports screens will be bringing you all of the action, our teams are ready and waiting to pour you a fresh pint when you (inevitably) spill yours, and we’re pulling out all the stops to make our sports pubs the best place to watch the World Cup in 2026.

When is the World Cup in 2026?

 
The opening match is set for Thursday the 11th of June 2026 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, while the final will be played on Sunday the 19th of July 2026 in the New York New Jersey Stadium.

Who has qualified for the World Cup in 2026? 

The home nations (Canada, Mexico and the USA) have automatically qualified and will be joined by 45 nations. Qualifiers are still ongoing, but we can expect to see Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Morocco and Australia competing in the group stage later this year. 

England and Scotland will both be competing in the World Cup competitions this year. Come on teams! Bring it home! 


World Cup draw 

The groups and matches were confirmed in December 2025, outlining the matches for the first two weeks of the tournament. There are already some incredible matches lined up, with a potential final clash between Spain and Argentina on the cards!
